Nov 4, 2006 | A rhesus macaque (Macaca mulatta) at the Markandashwara Swamy Temple, which is located in Vokkaleri village, near Kolar town in the Kolar District, Karnataka (India).
I worked in the Primary Health Center (PHC) in Vokkaleri during my medical internship and the hilltop temple was a quick 5-10 min drive on my motorcycle. Whenever I had a break from work, I went there even if the temple was closed... just being on the hilltop filled me with a sense of peace.
The above picture was taken when I was visiting the temple with my wife and her parents many years after my medical internship had ended.
